We have saved the Blood lines of Peter Siddons' Black Rock Poultry. Our Poultry farming started with my grandfather way back in the 1920s in Irvine. Then my parents took over around 1950 though "worked" on the farm from around the age of 3, made A partner in 1966. We moved to Bridge of Weir in 1972 due to the Irvine bypass destroying our smallholding. In 2008 when Peter Siddons retired he and his family passed on the care and preservation of the Black Rock genes for me to look after. From then on we have done just that however, we are now also developing the following breeding flocks.
Muirfield Brown which will also be sex links.
Light Sussex from one of the most respected and oldest utility pure breeds lines in the country, we are honoured to have been chosen to be part of this outreach breeding programme.

Muirfield Silver : which will be the result of crossing the Light Sussex cockerels onto the Barred Rock hens, and will be sex linked
Muirfield Roasters : which will be the result of crossing the Light Sussex cockerels onto the Rhode Island Hens. Both the girls and boys make great eating.
