Sunday Travels

On Sunday I had a lovely day meeting up with old friends and making new ones as well.

One of the reasons for the trip was to re-home my little broody Eve who had hatched the ducklings to Joyfull from the forums. Joy has a lovely area for them to free range and little Eve will be able to hatch more babies there which she can’t do here as I am running out of space. Little Treacle my Speckled Sussex girl has also been lucky enough to get a new home there and is now called Etta James and is loving having a cockerel again as she always was a little flirt!

I also got to meet up with Ma Lowe from the forums and we all went over to Grannie Annie’s to see all her lovely birds and to eat chicken sandwiches with chicken from her well reared meat birds. Ann often has fresh chickens for the table and back garden hens for sale. As always I came back with a freezer full of chickens and some of Ann’s homemade chicken sausages which are wonderfully tasty.

Ma brought with her the most lovely cakes to eat as she runs a cake business for weddings and celebrations. I’ve even taken photos of the cake she sent me home with as it was just so pretty and made with eggs from her own hens as well! If you want to find out more about her cakes or to get her to make you a wedding or celebration cake you can find out more from her website.

I then got to pop over to see Chicken Lady from the forums who has some of the most lovely and well looked after chickens and ducks as well as having Lilo & Stitch who were two kittens I fostered through Cats Protection and she adopted from me at Christmas. The little ladies have now grown into the most beautiful cats who are still big fuss pots. I have the confession to make though and that is I came home with some new recruits from her to join my boys and girls. Dooby, Doo and Pingu and lovely little ducklings and Pingu is such a little cutie pie that Bee is getting jealous that she is getting more cuddles than him in the garden.

I didn’t get home until gone midnight, but it was worth it to get to see some old friends and to meet Ma Lowe and her hubby. I can’t wait for the next meet up with people off the forums as they are all so lovely.
