The book is aimed at those thinking of getting poultry or those with a few already running round in the back garden. Like the site, the advice is on the whole for the back garden keeper so tips on preparing for your poultry; poultry with pets and children and how to make them all happy in the garden; housing, runs and equipment; how to settle and integrate a new flock or new birds; caring for poultry; diseases and problems; what to do with all those eggs and how to breed your own birds. We hope that the book will give advice for the new poultry keeper and the more experienced back garden keeper alike.
We hope people find the book really useful and that it may convince a few more new poultry keepers into starting or maybe convince those with chickens to expand their flock to ducks or quail or other poultry.

Cara have you heard of anyone giving cayenne pepper to the water or food for chickens to help them get through the cold weather, apparently it helps to keep them warmer and continue to lay? Your comments would be appreciated. Thank you Maggie
